Here are some helpful tips from Paul at tutorial.math.lamar.edu:

 

• Go To Class. Remember that math is cumulative. If you don’t go to class you will miss important material that will be used in later sections and/or important announcements. Make every effort to be there.

• Get to Class On Time. Sometime important announcements are only given during the first few minutes of a class. Have paper, pencil and materials ready

Getting a Jump on Algebra

Algebra I can be really fun with a good attitude.  It isn't hard, but you NEED to think.  And if you get started this summer and are ready come September, we will have a wonderful year.  So, here is what we are doing.  You need to complete the lessons that I have outlined for Chapters 1 and 2.  Go to the Lessons and Videos section and click on the video.  Watch it and then complete the work.  You should easily be able to complete this in a week or two.  ...
